A piece by Leader-Telegram spotlighted an article published on AJMC.com, the website of The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®). The article, “First Case of COVID-19 Reinfection Detected in the US,” examined a man in Nevada who had the first reported case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) reinfection in the United States and the fifth case of reinfection worldwide.
An article by PatientEngagementHIT referenced a study published in the April 2017 issue of AJMC®. The study, “Patients' Preferences for Receiving Laboratory Test Results,” indicated that the main reason given for receiving laboratory test results online was time savings, reported by 77% of participants, followed by lowering the chance of missing the results (31%).
An article by Tri State Observer cited an article published on AJMC.com titled “Diabetic Amputations May Be Rising in the United States.” The article highlighted how lower-limb amputations due to diabetes are on the rise in the United States after decades of decline.
A study published in the September 2020 issue of AJMC®, titled “Policies to Address Surprise Billing Can Affect Health Insurance Premiums,” was referenced in an article by Becker’s Hospital CFO Report. Study findings showed that in addition to protecting patients from receiving unexpected bills, policies to address surprise billing could reduce health insurance premiums by 1% to 5%.
