A piece by The Washington Post referenced an article published on AJMC.com, the website of The American Journal of Managed Care^® (AJMC^®). The article, “Racial Disparities Persist in Maternal Morbidity, Mortality and Infant Health,” covered study findings showing that American women die in childbirth at a higher rate than in any other developed country, while non-Hispanic Black women are more than 3 times more likely to have a maternal death than White women in the United States.

Newsweek cited a contributor article published on AJMC.com, titled “Air Ambulance Costs Increased From 2017 to 2020.” In the article, Robin Gelburd, JD, president of FAIR Health, explained that average estimated air ambulance costs rose 76.4% from 2017 to 2020, which is aligned with increases in costs for both airplane and helicopter air ambulance transport.

A study published in the January 2022 Health Information Technology special issue of AJMC^® was cited in an article by The Regulatory Review. The study, “Growth in Health Information Exchange With ACO Market Penetration,” indicated that hospitals that participate in accountable care organizations (ACOs) expand their health information exchange networks as a result, but hospitals in markets with existing ACO infrastructure can expand more quickly.

An article published on AJMC.com, titled “After Transplant, City of Hope Patient in Long-term Remission From HIV and Leukemia,” was referenced by EURweb. The article addressed findings that a patient living with HIV, who received a stem cell transplant from an unrelated donor to treat acute myelogenous leukemia, has been in remission from both diseases since 2019.
