A study published in the August 2022 issue of The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®) was cited in an article by HealthPayerIntelligence. The study, “Medicaid Expansion, Managed Care Plan Composition, and Enrollee Experience,” indicated that Medicaid expansion was associated with substantial changes in Medicaid managed care plan composition, which may influence a plan’s performance on enrollee experience metrics.
A study published ahead of print in the October 2022 issue of AJMC®, titled “Formulary Restrictions and Stroke Risk in Patients With Atrial Fibrillation,” was referenced in an article by HealthDay. The article showed that limited access to non–vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants caused by step therapy and prior authorization may exacerbate current underuse of anticoagulants and increase the risk of stroke in patients with newly diagnosed atrial fibrillation.
