An article by HealthPayerIntelligence referenced a study published in the March 2019 issue of The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®) titled “Health Insurance Literacy: Disparities by Race, Ethnicity, and Language Preference.” In the study, researchers found that compared with White enrollees in Connecticut qualified health plans, racial/ethnic minorities were disproportionately at risk for adverse health and financial consequences due to lower health insurance literacy.
A piece by FiercePharma spotlighted an article published on AJMC.com, the website of AJMC®. The article, “Cigna Dangles $500 to Persuade Patients to Switch Psoriasis Drugs,” reported that as the first quarter of 2021 ends, patients choosing to keep using secukinumab may be offered an inducement to switch to another biologic, ixekizumab. The article was also referenced by Becker’s Hospital Review.
An article by The Business Journals cited an article by AJMC®’s sister site The Center for Biosimilars®, titled “IQVIA: Biosimilars Could Save $100 Billion Over Next 5 Years.” The article covered a report from the IQVIA Institute for Human Data Science that predicts biosimilar sales of $80 billion over the next 5 years, as well as potential biosimilar-generated health care savings of more than $100 billion during that same period.
